Shelley (Ruma Kahikatea (Over 2’s)
Kia ora, ni hao, namaste, talofa lava, bula, kia orana, hello, my name is Shelley Besley. I look forward to meeting you, getting to know your children and being a part of the community and teaching team at Nature’s Point.
I started learning about early childhood with my own children at Playcentre, where I have been working for several year. I will remain on the Playcentre education team. I graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching – Early Childhood Education in July 2019 and I also have a Diploma in Fashion Design.
I love listening to children and helping them learn and be creative and to express themselves as they engage in their culture. I love gardening, as well as hiking and camping, and helping children learn in nature and an outdoor environment.
I live with my partner and two children, along with our pets and a rescue dog. We moved to Pahurehure, Papakura earlier in the year from Panmure near Mount Wellington.
